Train for the Trades
Through our successful skilled trades programs, New Lothrop High School is inspiring today’s youth to pursue vocational and skilled trades employment. Our students are mastering high-demand skilled trades, applying classroom lessons to real-world projects. From crafting fine hickory furniture, like dressers and live-edge tables, to designing sleek epoxy tabletops, and even welding custom trailers and exhaust pipes, these students are gaining the hands-on expertise that makes them workforce-ready. Mr. Long is not only a highly respected educator and talented tradesman; he is molding both beautiful projects and the future skills of New Lothrop students.
The job market faces a serious crunch of skilled tradespeople due to Baby Boomer retirements and a decline in high school skilled trades programs, leaving a talent gap for essential industries. Through our trades program, New Lothrop students seeking high-demand trades careers, will be on a fast track to becoming the next generation of essential, well-paid professionals.
