Dear NLHS Students and Parents,

It is with pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself, Kim Kuchar, as the  principal at NLHS.  My passion for education and the success of all students has been shaped over the past 30 years as an educator for the New Lothrop Area School system.  As your principal, it is my mission to motivate, encourage and inspire each and every member of our school family towards continued greatness.  New Lothrop Jr./Sr. High School is bursting with great potential to far exceed expectations and to develop learners who refuse to be average.

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective is to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at NLHS.  In order to do this, I provide teachers with feedback on their instruction and access to professional development.  I also reach out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns to ensure our students leave us college and career ready and with the necessary technology skills to compete in a global marketplace. 

Besides high-quality instruction, a well-rounded education includes extracurricular opportunities that develop character, cultivate passions, and explore a world outside the classroom.  As principal of NLHS, I value student needs and interests and believe they should shape instruction and extracurricular opportunities.  I love watching our students learn not only in the classroom, but also on the field, in the auditorium, in a show arena, or any other area that piques student interest and passion.

Most importantly, an excellent education is not possible without the great collaboration of all stakeholders.  Over the past 30 years, I have had the privilege of building positive relationships with amazing students, parents, and staff at NLHS, while also learning about the rich school history, tradition and success.  One of the greatest takeaways from my experience in this district has been the immense enthusiasm and pride for the school and community.  Because of this, I look forward every year to working with each of you in our efforts to provide continued educational excellence at NLHS.
